Weekend Update

Hello. Happy Sunday! I usually do not post on Friday, but generally get it done before school on Sunday night. I hope you had a restful, fun weekend. We have a very busy week coming up, starting tomorrow. In order to have success in class, students need to have all their school supplies. Some students are missing some notebooks and art supplies. If I had extras I have sold the students their school supplies, but I do not have extra composition books or folders. Organization is imperative in my class, and it is so easy to get lost with all the where does this go when students don't have the materials I ask for them to take out. Please check the bitterroot webpage or ask for a list at the office to double check that your child has all their supplies.

Last Friday, we were honored to welcome Mrs. Caskey to our class. She is the technology guru of the district and a great friend of mine. As I mentioned in my first day letter, we will be doing a ton of technology this year. Students need to understand what is safe and what should bring up red flags in their minds. They should have brought home their think before click sheet to share with you and obtain a parent signature for tomorrow. Students that bring it back signed tomorrow will earn $50.00. Students that forget to do this will pay the same amount. I have included a short flipvideo to share with you. On the video you will hear a sample of the material presented to the students.

Last Friday, we also took an in depth look at what my classroom expectations mean specifically. I wrote the expectations on the board and then had the students go around and write what they thought it meant when it came to the classroom. Watch the video below to see what some of your children thought.

Lastly, I am trying to earn free books for our classroom by turning in 20 Sunny D Juice labels. Please send in the entire label of any Sunny D drink you may have at home. If we turn in 20 we get 20 free books. There is a deadline approaching so drink it up! "0)

See you tomorrow! Have a great Sunday!

Oh, please mark your calendars for September 8th. It will be our official open house for parents only. Get those babysitters lined up, and come learn what you, as a parent, can do to help your child succeed in my class. Can't wait to meet/see all of you again!
